About Us

Blue Lagoon was established in 1961.  The Lodge is operated by the 4th, 5th & 6th generation descendants of Nathan Chase Thompson, an American whaler who settled on the island in 1853.

The Lodge is centrally located, on level ground just 200 metres from the beautiful lagoon in sub-tropical gardens. Thompson’s Store is located on the property and the Town Centre is just next door, providing numerous facilities from the post office to speciality stores and places to dine.

At Blue Lagoon, we have a family tradition of friendly island hospitality.  We look forward to sharing the best of Lord Howe with you on your next Island holiday.
